Johnson County

Bargersville, Indiana, 46106

Risen Lord Montessori School, serving children ages three to six, opened its doors in September of 2004 in response to the need for a Montessori school on the south side of Indianapolis. In addition to Indianapolis, we serve the communities of Bargersville, Center Grove, Franklin, Greenwood, Martinsville, Mooresville, New Whiteland, Trafalgar and Whiteland. Maria Montessori said, “If houses for children do not exist then let us build them.” RLMS fills a unique niche in the community as one of the few Montessori schools on the south side.  Housed within Risen Lord Lutheran Church as one of its ministries, it is located on ten beautiful acres in Johnson County and in 2014, expanded by building new classroom spaces and improving its outdoor environment.

At Risen Lord Montessori School, teachers trained in the Montessori method help each child work in a carefully prepared environment at the developmentally appropriate time. RLMS is committed to help each child reach his/her full potential.

Testimonials

“I love Risen Lord Montessori School. I feel so thankful that my oldest son went through this program. My second child is getting ready to complete her first year. She has begun to develop a love for learning and has really taken off. Risen Lord Montessori School has helped my children reach their personal best! I cannot say enough about this very loving, nurturing, and child-centered staff. They are organized, intelligent, patient, and kind. Risen Lord School is well respected in the community. The program director/teacher Ms. Anita Hittinger is an inspiration to parents and educators. We have been blessed to have our children attend this great school.

“What a wonderful year and a half it’s been at your school.. We are so grateful for your knowledge, kindness, and gentle approach with your students. Ben has gotten such a great start to learning and a very positive introduction to school. We could not ask for more! You have shown so much care and genuine affection for Ben and that has meant the world to us. We look forward to coming back with Molly in another year. Until then…sincerely, thank you!
